An honest review of my new “KJV Holy Bible, Compact Large Print Faux Leather Red Letter Edition – Ribbon Marker, King James Version, Burgundy, Zipper Closure”. ASIN 1642728659, $16.99 + Prime “Free” shipping.Delivery was fast and on-time arriving Tuesday, 17-January-2024 EST (good job Amazon). After one day with the product, obviously I don’t have a lot of time invested in this Bible, but it arrived exactly as described on the Amazon for-sale page. The book was packaged in an Amazon padded envelope and arrived in perfect condition. There is shrink-wrap plastic around the product itself that may help protect it if it is raining.This is a smaller version of The Holy Bible (7.1″ x 5.1″ x 1.3″) which is perfect for travel. The 10pt font in two columns per page is easy to read, even for my ancient eyes. The front and back covers are glued to the patent (faux) leather cover which has a good quality zipper closure. I treated the zipper with a swipe of mild bath soap for lubrication and protection, but I doubt it needs it. The zipper is all metal and seems to be of high quality.The Bible can be persuaded to lie flat, but it is a bit of a struggle, especially when opened at the front and back. Perhaps it will get easier with time and use. Remember there is a zipper closure; that does not help the book to lie flat! However, the zipper will help to preserve the page quality when traveling with the Bible (rough handling).The pages are printed on quality paper that is not too thin or transparent, but thin enough to prevent the book becoming too thick or heavy for travel. Yes you can see the printing on the reverse side of the page, but not enough to be a problem. If you want to underline sentences or use a highlighter on the pages, expect a lot of show-through. Instead you should search for a “Study Bible” version with heavier less transparent pages.So that’s it. This Bible appears to be a decent quality product in a smaller size, with a larger font, and a zipper closure – good for travel. It should drop into a backpack and/or purse and survive most trips intact. Exactly what I was looking for. And the price is fair.Conclusion: Would I pay more for this Bible? Probably not. Would I pay less? Sure, but why? I am happy with my purchase so far. I will revise my review later if any problems crop-up.God Bless… David in S.E. Florida

Beautiful leather bound Bible, just the right size for taking to a house of worship, traveling, or home reading the lettering size is perfect, a superbly crafted Edition of the KJV, I could not be happier if I could I would give the 10 Stars, a excellent purchase I would highly recommend this to anyone who reads the good book

This is currently my favorite bible, nice and compact but the letters are also big enough that it doesn’t feel like you’re doing a wheres Waldo whenever you’re reading the bible. Im a fan.

If you’re wanting to know Jesus and have a relationship with him. This is an absolute must buy. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are the best places to start reading. This book let’s you hear from God. Time is running out, friends. Believe in Jesus and repent.

COVER & DESIGNThe cover of this compact Bible is faux leather that is soft to the touch and flexible. Both the front and the back have an emblazoned cross, as well as an intricate border design, complete with stitch marks on the top, bottom, and opening side.The spine features text that reads “| KJV | | | Holy Bible | | | [Christian Art Publishers logo] |”, with space between each set of text, for a nice look. The spatial lines are embedded into the spine, and look astute. It looks like a higher end spine of a Bible you might spend $50 or more on. I love the cover and binding.It lays flat after some use, and is decently durable for what it is. I have dropped or bent this a few times, and have only suffered a few dings on the cover and inside binding. Nothing major.SIZEThis is a perfect size. The exact measurements are in the item description, but I can say this; it is great to take with you anywhere. Not small enough to fit in your pocket, per se, but it will fit inside of your car’s glove box or side console, in a personal bag or purse, and it fits in your hand with ease. It’s lightweight, and not too bulky. Perfect to have for God’s Word on the go!PAGESThe pages are not exactly gold-gilded: but they are slightly gold. Looks nice regardless.A presentation page featuring a neat border is in front, before the copyright info and the table of contents.This features a single ribbon marker that is the same saddle brown color of the cover. Very basic, and serves its purpose. Has not frayed or worn much in the year or so that I have had it.The pages are thin, to the point that you can see the text on the other side. While it does not deter from reading the text on the page you are on, it does bleed a bit if you are a person who highlights.Contains a topical concordance and a “where to turn” table in the back, as well as several full color maps.There is a single page in front and a single page in back that are entirely blank, for the note-takers out there.TEXTThe size of the text is 10 pt, which I find to be perfect to read. It says large print, and that means large print for a compact size. Other compact size Bibles have between 6 and 8 pt font. It’s slightly larger print than most regular Bibles, too. The text slightly goes into the gutter, but is still readable.There are lines in-between the columns which give it a classy look. The top of the pages simply give a page number and the book, chapter, and first verse on it.Red Letter for Christ in the NT – including Revelations – but improper captilization of pronouns referring to Him and to God, which is a negative.All of the omitted verses are in this version, which I like. This is not the Pure Cambridge text, which is not a deal-breaker necessarily, but it is a deterrent for some.No cross-references, and the margins are too small for most notes, so if you like to see references to other books, chapters, and verses, you might want to use something such as sticky notes.OVERVIEWThis value compact Bible is a steal! The best thing about it is the cover and the text size. I cannot express how much I love the cover! The design is beautiful. It’s as close to genuine leather as you can get for this price.This is a solid purchase for anyone in need of a Bible for every day use, or as a gift. While it isn’t perfect due to some text inaccuracies, it still drives God’s Word home, and does a wonderful job of doing it. I loveeeee this Bible! It’s my favorite Bible purchase thus far. It fits nicely inside of my purse and matches the brown leather perfectly! Highly recommend! The text inside is also easy to read. I like how simple it is. Just the scriptures and that’s it. No subtitles or chapter/book summaries.

Nice little Bible. Well-made, and comfortably portable. It lists the first books of the New Testament as “St.” Matthew, “St.” Mark, “St.” Luke, and “St.” John… I’m not used to this, as I’m not Catholic. However, this book does not contain Maccabees, et al., so I don’t think this is a Catholic version. Very nice! I’m happy with my purchase, and it fits perfectly inside my small Bible carrier, which is a plus!
